Amber L. Niese, Attorney at Law

Amber L. Niese is the founder of the Law Office of Amber L. Niese, LLC, where she focuses her practice on estate planning, elder law, special needs planning, estate and trust administration, probate matters, real estate transactions, and closely held business matters. Amber is known for taking a practical, detail-oriented approach to complex planning issues, helping clients navigate important life decisions with clarity and confidence.

Amber grew up on the Henry–Putnam County line and graduated from Patrick Henry High School. She earned her undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University and her law degree from the University of Toledo, where she served as a member of the Law Review. During law school, she gained experience working in the Office of the General Counsel at Cleveland Clinic and with a general practice law firm in Wood County, Ohio.

After being admitted to practice law in Ohio in 2009, Amber began her legal career in private practice in Wood County, where she handled a wide range of matters including domestic relations, juvenile matters, criminal misdemeanors, real estate disputes, contract matters, and estate planning. She later served for five years as a Staff Attorney with the Defiance and Lima offices of the UAW Legal Services Plan, where she focused on estate planning, elder law and special needs planning, guardianships, and probate and trust administration. In 2016, Amber established her own law firm to provide personalized legal services to local families and businesses. She also presently serves as the village solicitor for several local communities. Additionally, as a licensed title agent in the State of Ohio, Amber serves as the manager for County Line Title, LLC.

Amber is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Henry County Bar Association, the Putnam County Bar Association, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).

Beyond her legal practice, Amber is actively involved in advocacy and community leadership. She is the President and a founding member of Connections for Autism and Other Disabilities, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving resources and support for families navigating developmental disabilities in rural Northwest Ohio. She also serves on the boards of the Putnam County Board of Developmental Disabilities and the Northern Ohio Board of the International Dyslexia Association.

Amber and her husband, Justin, live outside of Miller City with their four children. Her family are members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Bavaria, where Amber teaches the high school CCD class.

Makenna R. Lehman, Attorney at Law

Makenna R. Lehman is an Associate Attorney at the Law Office of Amber L. Niese, LLC, where she works directly with clients on estate planning, probate matters, real estate transactions, and business matters. Her work focuses on helping individuals and families navigate important legal decisions and develop practical solutions tailored to their goals and circumstances.

Raised in Putnam County, Makenna is a proud graduate of Miller City High School. She attended the University of Toledo, where she double majored in Marketing and Management. During her undergraduate studies, she completed a marketing internship with Marathon Petroleum Corporation and began working as a legal assistant at the Law Office of Amber L. Niese, LLC in 2019. She graduated summa cum laude in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Business Administration and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, an honor society recognizing top-performing students at AACSB-accredited business schools.

Following her undergraduate studies, she continued her education at The University of Toledo College of Law. During law school, she remained active academically and professionally as a member of the Business Law Society, Delta Theta Phi, the Student Bar Association, and the Women’s Law Student Association. She also continued working at the firm as a law clerk throughout law school.

After earning her Juris Doctor from The University of Toledo College of Law in May of 2024 and being admitted to practice law in Ohio in November of 2024, she transitioned into her role as an Associate Attorney with the firm. She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Henry County Bar Association, and the Putnam County Bar Association.

Shelby Rupright

Shelby Rupright has been an integral part of the Law Office of Amber L. Niese, LLC since 2018 and serves as the firm’s Probate Administrator. In this role, she handles the intake and prepares documents for all probate-related matters handled by the firm, including estates and guardianships. Additionally, she helps manage client intake for estate planning matters and assist the attorneys with the estate planning process.

With a broad background in both the legal and accounting fields, Shelby brings valuable experience to the firm. As a key member of the firm’s team, she helps coordinate many of the day-to-day aspects of estate planning and probate matters and serves as a primary point of contact for clients navigating these processes. She works closely with the attorneys and clients to help ensure matters move forward efficiently and that clients receive clear guidance throughout the process.

Shelby lives in New Bavaria with her husband, Dan, and their two children.

Angie Niese

Angie Niese has been the firm’s bookkeeper since 2019 and manages the financial records for both the Law Office of Amber L. Niese, LLC and County Line Title, LLC. She oversees invoicing, the processing of client payments, and the day-to-day accounting functions that help keep both businesses operating smoothly.

Prior to serving in her current role, she worked in a family business and also performed title searches for the firm. Her background in both business operations and real estate records provides valuable experience and attention to detail that supports the firm’s legal and title services.

Through her careful and consistent work, she helps ensure the financial side of the office runs efficiently and supports the team in serving clients effectively.

Angie lives outside of Miller City with her husband, Matt, and their two children.

Josh Niese

Josh Niese joined the Law Office of Amber L. Niese, LLC in 2021 and serves as the primary point of contact for the firm’s real estate transactions in Henry County. He works closely with the firm’s attorneys to coordinate the many steps involved in residential, agricultural, and commercial real estate transactions.

Prior to joining the firm, he gained experience working in the accounting industry, which provided a strong foundation in financial records, organization, and attention to detail. That background supports his work in preparing settlement statements and coordinating the financial aspects of real estate transactions.

Josh assists with the preparation of purchase contracts, performs title searches, prepares settlement statements and closing documents, coordinates closing logistics, and meets with clients to complete real estate closings. He also handles the recording and processing of deeds, mortgages, affidavits, and other real estate instruments with county recorder’s offices to ensure transactions are properly finalized. Clients frequently work with him throughout the transaction as he helps coordinate documents, scheduling, and closing details so that matters move efficiently from contract through closing.

He lives in Napoleon with his wife, Emily, and their daughter.
